  1. Sysex files usually contain one check sum per file, but you may find that
  2. your synth requires that a check sum be calculated for each patch in a
  3. bank.  Use this cycle gadget to indicate how your synth stores check
  4. sums.

  6.      FILE OFST:  The check sum offset pertains to the entire file.  This
  7.                  is by far the most common way of handling check sums.

  9.      ITEM OFST:  A check sum must be calculated for each item (patch) in
  10.                  this bank, and the check sum offset is based on the
  11.                  patch NOT the file.
